Lexis Retreats
This Summer, Miv Watts will be hosting retreats in her stunning 17th century manor amid the rolling hills of the Gers, SW France.
At Lexis, you will be secluded in total privacy, surrounded by sunflower fields and woods. The atmosphere is peaceful though often interrupted by the barking of a visiting doe and the haunting hoot of the barn owls. A pair of collared doves may greet you, from the barn roof , of a morning and our happy hens and one gentleman cockerel will be there to embellish your general field of vision.
Designed as a non-structured week, in addition to our guided workshops, our retreats are an opportunity to immerse yourself in a completely new environment.

After a lifetime of dressing sets, Art Directing Film and TV, running a home, setting up homes in a myriad of foreign places, Travelling, learning, Creating, Curating , Decorating and Collecting. Miv Watts has harnessed the skills of her old friend Photographer Hugh Stewart and together they decided to create a book featuring the Portraits and Homes of some of their mates and some other free spirited, free wheeling Nomads.
This book is a backlash to neatness, minimalism, order, and over homogenised homes. It focusses on the wonderful, messy reality of life. It tells stories of adversity and the challenges of over coming the kind of tragedy that all of us, at sometime in our lives, have to encounter. It dispels the punishment we all have to hide, while we endeavour to endure the pretence of eternal happiness, it makes us aware that comfort and contentment is much more attainable by living an authentically genuine life: This book is not about how we SHOULD behave. This book is about Warts and All, being comfortable in one’s own skin, living with the sums of our parts and facing the World head on.
